SILKAIR MD
Singapore Virtual Airlines Group was founded in 2008 on the Simmiles platform by aviation enthusiasts Rema Allen and Lester Lee to address the lack of an SIA-based virtual airline. Starting with a handful of routes loosely based on major SIA destinations, it wasn't long before SilkAir and SIA Cargo were added to the list. Mr. Lee took over as CEO in 2010 when Rema left the airline due to real world commitments.
As the airline grew, so did our requirements. In 2011, all operations were moved to the VAFinancials System as Simmiles could no longer meet our needs and expectations. In addition to a proper client, VAFS added a new dimension of realism to the airline; economics. No longer just flying from A to B, we now had running expenses, fuel costs, ticket prices and airport-specific demand to contend with. As revenue grew, we could afford more aircraft to serve more routes.
We remain the only SIA-based virtual airline that has exclusive partnerships with regional VATSIM ATC divisions; namely the Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Philippines virtual Area Control Centers. We work closely with them to organize regular events and fly-ins on the global VATSIM network.
The Group continues to be closely aligned with our real world counterparts. In 2012, Singapore Airlines held its last commercial 747 flight. To commemorate this, we held a big online event to fly the routes at the same time.
In 2013 we celebrated our fifth anniversary. Events and groupflights were held in commemoration of this major milestone.
In 2014, we were accepted into Aerosoft's official partner program. This allows our pilots and staff discounts on various simulation products. Having recently undergone an overhaul, Singapore Virtual Airlines Group will continue to aim to become the best virtual airline in Southeast Asia.
In 2015, we entered codeshare partnerships with Virgin Australia and Eva virtual airlines. Now our pilots can explore destinations beyond our extensive network. That year, we've also brought on board a Human Resources Director to better serve our pilots.

In 2016, we partnered with Air New Zealand virtual to open up even more possible routes in the Pacific.

2017 is turning out to be an exciting year so far with even closer ties between SVAG and SINvACC producing two successful large scale events thus far, new partnerships with Imaginesim, Virgin Atlantic Virtual, Air France Virtuel, and the integration of Tigerair and Scoot. We're underway to launch Singapore Virtual Flying College in conjunction with SINvACC - a full-fledged training department that consolidates pilot and controller training for Southeast Asia.

Today, we span five divisions with over 640 routes between them, 140 aircraft and 71,000 hours flown. We're not your typical A-to-B virtual airline, we aim to live up to the same values and professionalism of our real world counterpart with great service and great quality. As part of our airline, you're not just another number on the screen, you're part of our team and we will do anything to
make your flying experience a most pleasant one.

If you share with us the same passion for flight, join us today.
